We are so excited with the upcoming Kelly McGillis tournament. For the past 20 years, the tournament has had a loyal following in Key West, Florida. And for the very first time, will be hosted in a new city. Cocoa Beach is going to be a new location, with more beaches, larger fields and the best tournament to date.

Orlando Pride Parade

Orlando Women’s Flag Football League participated in the Orlando Pride Parade. There were thousands of people who came for the parade and we gave out over 1500 fliers during yesterday’s festivities. Thank you to Coach Ed for the donation of the AWESOME beads and trailer, Brandi for the use of her truck and for constructing the flaot, Nakita & Sarah and Deidra & Andee for housing the float. Thank you to “The Best Looking Football Players I ‘ve Ever Seen” (according to one Parade attendee) float riders and walkers.




		
		
		



		 
 			
Volunteers Needed for Orlando Pride

This Sunday the Orlando Women’s Flag Football League will have a float in the Orlando Pride Parade! We are still looking for a few more volunteers to ride on the float. 




Sunday Novermber 13, 2011


3:oopm – Volunteers to ride the float – first 10 people get a OWFFA teeshirt


Volunteers must meet at the OWFFL float no later than 3:00pm **Once you check in- please do not leave.** The Parade line up is located on East Robinson St. (The north side of the lake). The OWFFL is lineup #10 just behind Disney. If you have trouble finding our float ask a volunteer parade coordinator with the bright yellow vests.

Fall Season Postponed

The league will be postponed due to lack of teams registered. While we had a great number of loose women sign up, we have seen a shortage of teams registering. We want to have a great season, and we feel like if we postpone the season until after Orlando Pride (our major recruiting day that was postponed due to the severe storms last week) we will get better numbers. If you are a captain of a team who has not registered yet. Please contact me at orlandoflag@gmail.com


 


Registration


We will keep registration open online- if you are planning on registering please do so. The re-scheudeld season will still be on Tuesday nights. Most likely postponed to late November or the beginning of January. We have not charged anyone’s credit card who has already registered and will not until the league re-scheudles.
